Roman Fields are very proud to announce that we have been nominated for an Autism Accreditation excellence award, as part of the Autism Professional Awards 2018.
The Autism Professionals Awards have been created to recognise and reward services and professionals who are leading the way in innovative autism practice and making a real difference to the lives of autistic people in the UK. The Awards seek to acknowledge the outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals, teams and organisations who have demonstrated excellence, dedication and commitment to improving the lives of autistic people.
We are incredibly proud to have been chosen as only one of 3 provisions in their top category. It is our mission, as our accreditation report noted , to be ‘a secure base for the young people where trust can develop, where staff are sensitive to each individual, accept each student for who he/she is and bend over backwards to make the experience within the school successful.’ Our nomination in this category is a testament to our commitment to be the best we can be and to serve the needs of our young people in a holistic way.
I know some of parents/carers do have young people that do not have a diagnosis of autism, however the work my dedicated team of teachers and tutors have put in over the years has still positively impacted of their outcomes too. Teaching young people, regardless of diagnosis, successfully requires a commitment to deliver ‘quality first teaching’ day after day something that is always a priority here at Roman Fields.
In addition to this we have enjoyed overwhelming support and guidance from our dedicated team of Governors.
We also receive a huge amount of support from our parents and carers and with this in mind, I would like to thank you all too – as it wouldn’t happen without this great partnership.
Last, but not least, we have a hugely, talented and unique group of young people who we are fiercely proud of. We wouldn’t have a chance of being put forward for this award if they hadn’t taken the decision to work so hard alongside us.
This is therefore entirely a team award. Every person who has either worked here or supported our youngsters, or attended Roman Fields as a student shares equal credit. Thanks again for your continued support.
