Breaking News:

Roman Fields won the 2018 Autism Accreditation Excellence Award. This is a testament to the commitment and hard work of our youngsters, staff, Governors and our ever-supportive parents.

We strive to create an environment where each individual can flourish irrespective of their previous difficulties. We take a holistic approach to the development of our youngsters, and involve families and the home as much as possible. This allows us to produce bespoke and targeted programs of study which enable our young people to achieve meaningful qualifications and make successful transitions onwards. This was recognised by both the inspection team and the awarding body. Please click here to access the report.

Our success is built on a genuine collaborative partnership between governors, staff, SEN professionals, parents/carers and our young people. Students at Roman Fields are given the agency, security, and confidence to achieve. Visitors to Roman Fields are immediately struck by the respectful, calm and considerate atmosphere around our site, which mirrors the pride and belief our staff and youngsters have in our small community.

Roman Fields was rated by Ofsted as ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ safeguarding in October 2014. Please read the report, as we feel it accurately reflects our school. The Ofsted visit followed an additional comprehensive review of our practice in April 2014 by the NAS accreditation team, which resulted in us becoming an Autism Accredited provision. A subsequent second inspection of practice took place in 2017 which led to both our re-accreditation and the excellence award. The visiting teams from NAS commented on ‘the never give up ethos’ and said that ‘staff should be celebrated for their persistent positive approach, which is welcomed by families.’ They also stated “overall the school achieves excellent outcomes and should take great pride in its achievements.”

Further, our recent examination results show that our endeavours are paying dividends in terms of both attainment and achievement:

English results 2017: 60% 4-9 (A*-C) or equivalent

Mathematics results 2017: 60% 4-9 (A*-C) or equivalent

Science results 2017: 71% A*-C or equivalent

There is a wealth of information on the website that I hope will give you a real flavour of our provision.
