Attendance and Punctuality
"My interviews with the teachers have demonstrated their compassion, understanding and high aspirations for the young people in your provision, and I was really touched by some of the pupils’ and parents’ responses to the support they receive at Romans Fields." - Laura Gray, Educational Psychologist 2018
Attendance is a key factor if a pupil is to achieve good qualifications and have the chance to grow as an individual; socially, emotionally and personally.
We ask parents/carers to phone the school if your son/daughter is going to be absent or late. If we have not heard from you by the time your son/daughters is due to start school, our admin team will make a courtesy phone call to the named contact. Our office is manned from 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday and outside these hours, we have an answer machine in operation, so it is easy for you to notify us of a pupil's absence or delay. Please telephone 01442 256915 and leave your son/daughter's name and information relating to the delay/absence.
We encourage pupil medical appointments to be booked outside of school hours where possible, to minimise disruption to their learning. The school does not authorise time off for holidays, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
We have weekly celebrations where we recognise pupils with strong and improving attendance. Please see the Attendance policy for details.
