Day Pupils: In April of each year, ESMA leads will look at all the pupils across the local authority who are successfully accessing their service and decide who they feel would benefit most from a full-time year 11 place at Forest House Education Centre (FHEC). The decision around who joins the ESMA programme is therefore ultimately theirs, although parents and Forest House colleagues are consulted.

Unit pupils: Individual pupils will enter the unit following significant concerns over their mental health at various points throughout the year. As soon as they are able, they will have access to the FHEC for the duration of their stay.

NB: Due to the nature of the pupils the Education centre is designed to support, there is no direct access through the usual application route as this is a bespoke service.
